Networking Approach

SD-WAN vs SASE

SASE and SD-WAN are both technologies for implementing a corporate-wide area network (WAN) that connects remote users and branch locations to the enterprise network, cloud applications, and the Internet. According to Gartner, SASE is the future of WAN technology, but what are SASE and SD-WAN, and how do they differ from one another?

SD-WAN and SASE are very similar, and, in fact, SD-WAN is a critical component of SASE solutions. However, the two solutions are different and are designed to meet slightly different goals and operate in different deployment environments.

Many organizations are still using SD-WAN.  There are still benefits to using SD-WAN to gain visibility into network traffic, analyze traffic data, and automate responses. The digital world is rapidly evolving, making it difficult for IT teams to keep up with increased security threats to the network.

Secure Access Service Edge (SASE)

Implementing a SASE solution can help extend secure access and high-performance connectivity to users regardless of their geographic locations. The transition to remote work and the emergence of a cloud-first culture are having a major impact on enterprise networks and information security. Networking patterns have changed, and organizations need to deploy new services and cater to new requirements faster than ever before.

A SASE architecture provides the agility and flexibility needed in this new environment. SASE makes it possible to deploy new branches remotely with low overhead. It also provides the security stack to ensure employees and contractors can access systems securely from anywhere.

As a result, Gartner predicts that 20% of organizations will soon use SWG, ZTNA, and FWaas from the same vendor (learn more about SASE components below). By 2024, at least 40% of organizations will have an official SASE adoption strategy.

SASE solution organizations need can equally service any edge including on-premises data centers, cloud, branch offices, and mobile users on the go.

This solution delivers a full set of networking and security capabilities including secure web gateway (SWG), universal zero-trust network access (ZTNA), next-generation dual-mode cloud access security broker (CASB)Firewall-as-a-Service (FWaaS), and secure SD-WAN integration.

Wi-Fi Access Points (AP)

Digital modernization is accelerating, driving the creation and expansion of location-aware services like turn-by-turn wayfinding, high-value asset tracking, retail customer engagement, and smart office initiatives. Yet, despite the importance of location context, organizations are unable to deploy indoor locations as widely as they would like or provide seamless user experiences across indoor and outdoor environments due to the complexity, cost, and level of effort existing solutions require.

To improve the accuracy and access to indoor location services, what is needed is an automated method to map the absolute reference measurements using universal latitude and longitude coordinates.

APs include enterprise, branch, plug-and-play for remote workers, outdoor, and hardened versions for a wide range of use cases and price points.
