DOF INSIGHT: CHARTER SCHOOL FACILITIES INCENTIVE GRANTS (SFIG)
By DOF
August 22, 2025
Here’s a funding opportunity flying under the radar — and the deadline just passed, but it’s still one to prepare for next year and track closely:

The Charter School Facilities Incentive Grant (SFIG) program offers a separate, competitive pot of $10 million for FY25 to help public charter schools cover leasing, purchasing, and facility costs. While it’s not connected to the current E-rate release delays, it’s another critical funding action that occurred in July.

The FY25 application window closed on July 8, but now is the time to plan for the next cycle and stay informed. DOF is actively tracking this program and can help charter schools position themselves early for future rounds of funding.

Insight: Unlike most tech-focused grants, SFIG addresses the actual spaces where learn in happens — making it a great fit for schools looking to modernize both their physical and digital environments.
